Popsicle Fun and Other News

One of Emma's favorite treats is Popsicles. This is her, cute as ever, smile because she is thrilled to be eating one. Notice how I color coordinate. What a dork. Anyways, it was hot today.
In other news, we have put an offer down on a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with basement and will hear to see if the seller has accepted our offer tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed that this one goes through because it is a perfect house for our growing family.
Also, it is my goal to start updating my blog more often as well. We'll see how that goes.
Here's to the next -and last- semester of school!

Pictures Galore

Here is Emma eating a banana as part of her dinner. She is a rather picky eater. I need to get better at making dinner at night and submitting her to new tasty treats. Oh, in a perfect world. Her favorites are chicken nuggets, cheese quesadillas, and the most recent, grilled cheese. Here, you can barely notice, Emma has pig tails, compliments of Miss Mary at KinderCare.
Last weekend we got Emma three gold fish. She now has just two, but they are going strong. She likes watching us feed them and having them swim around excited to eat. She now says fishie - although it sounds more like shishie. At any rate, it is ridiculously cute.

Thanks Grandma Holbrook for the package of goodies. I really liked reading the card.
(Also, check out her full-blown pony tail - compliments of Miss Mary at KinderCare.)

School has started for me so things are going to be hectic for the next four months. And the four months after that. Oh well, I guess that's what it takes to become a college graduate. This summer I am taking 15 credits and this fall, 13. And then,
DONE.

March 10, 2010

Emma and I are both on the upside of feeling better. All I can say for that is...it's about time. Tomorrow will be an exhausting day because lucky me gets to spend all afternoon on campus. Yippee! So, I'll leave you with an over-sized picture of my love and me and get ready for bed.
OH and for some additional information, Ben had a great birthday. We went to Bonsai Japanese steakhouse and then back to our apartment for ice cream cake. The cake must be good because this is the 2nd year he has requested it. Thanks Brian, David, Elise, Aidan, Seery, and Liam for celebrating with us.

February 18, 2010

Sometimes I find myself wondering how many people read this. I wonder.
Here is a picture of our "Captain Emma". For those of you who don't know, we recently traded in our Toyota 4Runner for a Toyota Corolla. Because of this switch-a-roo, Emma's car seat was inside today. She got right into it and then proceeded to take her shoes off and get comfortable. I did make something new for dinner tonight. It is called Shrimp Creole and I got it from my Betty Crocker Cook Book. It was pretty good and Emma really enjoyed watching me make it while she ate her Gold Fish. Love that girl. Alright, now back to my homework. I do have big plans to make a cake from scratch tomorrow after work. Yum! I've never done it before. We'll see how it goes. I would say I'm looking forward to the weekend, but I have a big test for my World Music class. Yuck.
Back to the books.

Today

Emma is a funny girl. She is almost always smiling and makes my day better. She thought she was hot stuff after we got her PJ's on tonight. Here is a darling picture of that (our she-devil)...See the teddy bear in her left hand? She hardly ever lets it go. Her Aunt Carey gave her that knowing she would love it. (Carey I miss you!)

These are the flowers Ben got me for Valentine's Day. Aren't they beautiful?!
Meanwhile, I have a test on Saturday that I have been devoting quite a bit of time to. Add to that a case of the Winter Blues and you got a recipe for disaster. I find myself tired a lot more that usual. I've been working later hours so going to the gym has been out of the question. I think I'm actually going to look for a cruise for Ben and me to go on this spring or summer, depending on school. Oh, have I mentioned, December should be the month I'm done! I need to get my butt in gear so I can graduate with flying colors! Speaking of which, I'm going to sign off now and do some more homework.
Until next time...
p.s. Ben, I love you baby!

A Case of the Mondays...

Today is Monday. Monday is the day after the weekend. I had a GREAT weekend. Ben surprised me by not having to work an overtime shift Saturday night and taking me out on a date. So off we went, Ben, Emma, and I went to Red Robin and ate our hearts out. Emma was in a good mood because we purposely drove around just long enough for her to take a nap. We arrived, were seated right away, and had onion rings and fantastic burgers.
It was a really fantastic night.
I just finished two quizzes and still need to read over a reading for a class tomorrow.
Here's to a fantastic week!
