First Ever Cousin Sleepover

Friday, November 18th was our first cousin sleep over. We started the festivities with a mac n' cheese dinner. Everyone loved it.

These guys are best buddies.
Ashlynne was the best baby enjoying all her siblings and cousin enjoying themselves.
It snowed that night so the next morning we went outside to play, have snowball fights and in some cases, eat the snow. Yum.
It was a GREAT night.

Tuesday Night S'More Night

Tonight, not only did Ben make dinner for us, he also made dessert.

And not just any dessert-SMOREs. What a guy.

Emma was in heaven making hers.

Only after hers was completely assembled, did she decide she only wanted the chocolate. A girl after my own heart.

It was quite the Tuesday night.

Family Fun with Fall

This past Sunday, Ben surprised with the idea of going for a drive in the mountains to take in the beautiful fall weather. It was abeautiful day. Perfect temperature and fall colors to boot. We drove through Big Cottonwood Canyon over to the Park City side. We had lunch in Park City at a place called "Flippin Burgers" which I though was a cute play on words. We even stopped by the outlet stores. Every once in a while Ben surprises me with something so amazing, it's surprising ;)Love that man.
On that note, last Friday was our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Five wonderful years being married to my best friend. Love ya babe.

I LOVE MY FAMILY!

Vegas Vacation

We went to Vegas this last weekend to visit the Coil family. Emma had a great time with her cousins and it was fun to get together with Becky and Dillon. Saturday we went to Red Rock Canyon National Park. We had a lot of fun but the girls didn't last that long. Thank goodness we brought a picnic lunch with us and Emma had a nap in the car. It was a relaxing time for all and was much needed for me. Emma did really good in the car too. I was thoroughly impressed. Anyways, it's been awhile since I've posted anything so I though I would add a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. Have a great week everybody!

One Great Weekend

This past weekend was one great weekend. Friday night Ben and I went out to dinner at a place called Johnny Carrino's. We had a coupon so it was even better. I had a test on Saturday afternoon that I got an A. And Sunday I actually had the whole day off. We got up and had biscuits and gravy for breakfast and then hung out until we went to the park in the afternoon. Emma had a great time going down the slide and chasing dogs around. We then went to Ikea for a prospective buy and then off to Golden Corral for David's 30th birthday dinner. It was a GREAT day. I only have two more days of work until I get 4 whole days off. Boy do I love spring break.

Hump Day and Valentine's Day

Yesterday I went over to spend some time with my niece and nephews. We made Valentine's Day cards for the nieces and nephews in St. Louis. We had a great time and then we had a great meal and it was a great night. Emma and I enjoyed ourselves immensely.
And, just in case some of you men forgot, Valentine's Day is Sunday so make sure you treat the beautiful women in your life well. I know mine well. We have a date night planned for Friday.
I cannot wait!

February 8, 2010

Today is a purple kind of day.
Today wasn't a bad day. I got to work early, felt productive, got homework done, got Emma in bed, heated myself up some dinner.
Yesterday wasn't a bad day either. I watched Gladiator at work -great movie- came home to pick up my family and then headed over to a friend's house to watch the big game. Emma was such a doll. We were kind of worried on how she would act in a stranger's home. Little did we know, they would have a dog. She was a little timid at the beginning but soon enough she couldn't get enough of him. She especially liked his tail. She behaved herself through the entire game. Her dad couldn't have been happier. Me either for that matter, I would've hated being the only people there with a kid and then have that kid cry and scream or just knock people's drinks over all night. It was a really fun night and I'm glad the three of us were together.
Here are some precious moments from our nest egg to yours.

Tuesday Night Fun

Tonight my brother, Brian came over. We had a dinner that I made via a recipe from my Martha Stewart Living magazine. I thought it turned out good. We had buckeyes (peanut butter balls) for dessert. Emma had the best time with her Uncle Brian. They played until Emma proclaimed it was time for bed (by crying, of course). We had some good conversations. I love my older brother. Here is an adorable picture of the two of them. Emma has an obsession with laundry baskets so when Brian put her in his, she didn't want to get out. Look at the shear happiness on her face. She thought she was ultimate hot stuff.

A Thursday Adventure

Today I was able to pick Emma up from daycare a little earlier than
usual and trek down to P-Town, aka Provo. We met David and Brian for a quick bite at In and Out. Emma did really well at the restaurant...good thing mom brought animal crackers for Roo to snack on while I devoured my cheeseburger and fries. We then came home and played because at this point, Emma had a nap longer than she normally has ever slept during the day. She played with a new toy she received from Sean and Mallory. These are Elise's brother and sister-in-law who are very thoughtful and generous. Good thing Emma and I played long enough to tucker her out again so she could go to sleep. Here's a side note, how do you get a 13 month baby girl to sleep through the night. We have had some difficulty in that arena lately and I am wondering if anyone has any sound advice for me.
Anything would be helpful at this point. I think all three of us are ready for a good night sleep nightly. Meanwhile, I am in the process of rearranging our pictures above our couch. I feel like I'm ready for a little makeover for our nest. Truthfully, I am ready to be in a house. We shall see...

Here is a picture for your viewing pleasure of Miss Roo on Christmas Eve. Love her.

My First Time

I have finally decided to put my creativity to the test. While I am taking a web design course at school, I finally have the courage to start my very own, cute, little blog. I think blogging is a great way to not only keep in touch with the family and friends we already have, but to hopefully make some new friends along the way.
As I type this entry, our nest egg smells of blueberry muffins. I have been craving them for some time and finally got the stuff to make them today at the store. I can't wait to give one to my little Emma Roo in the morning.
School started today and I am, more than ever, motivated to get done. Hopefully this December will be it for me, but who knows. I am down to only 13 credits this semester so I can spend Tuesday and Thursday afternoons with Roo.
Here's to a wonderful world of blogging :)
