First Ever Cousin Sleepover

Friday, November 18th was our first cousin sleep over. We started the festivities with a mac n' cheese dinner. Everyone loved it.

These guys are best buddies.
Ashlynne was the best baby enjoying all her siblings and cousin enjoying themselves.
It snowed that night so the next morning we went outside to play, have snowball fights and in some cases, eat the snow. Yum.
It was a GREAT night.

Tuesday Night S'More Night

Tonight, not only did Ben make dinner for us, he also made dessert.

And not just any dessert-SMOREs. What a guy.

Emma was in heaven making hers.

Only after hers was completely assembled, did she decide she only wanted the chocolate. A girl after my own heart.

It was quite the Tuesday night.

September 22, 2010

Emma and I had a great time putting on PJ's tonight.

This is her new stool that she likes to sit on.

Notice how she has no pants on. Her new favorite past time: taking her clothes off (including diaper sometimes).

These are her new slippers and hand puppet for bath time. She absolutely loves putting them on...all the time.

Isn't she the cutest. I sure do love her.

Weddings

A few weeks ago we went to Ben's cousin's wedding reception. Here are a few very cute pictures of the two loves of my life.

Look at that smile!

I bought this dress for my little roo bear for just this occasion.
We had a great time with family that night. We were even lucky enough to have Grandma and Grandpa Holbrook there. Emma and we had a blast.

Grandma's Visit

Ben's mom, Kandi, came to visit us. Emma, after a day of not-so-suredness, really had a great time with her. They played all day. She took me and Emma out to dinner on Friday night and we lasted all but 15 minutes until Emma had had enough and ended our date. Is there anything more embarrassing than a baby crying in a restaurant full of couples and quiet people. We ate when we got home though and it was really great food.
Saturday Ben, Grandma, and Emma went to the park which is conveniently located just minutes down the street.
Sunday they went to Wheeler Farm. I, unfortunately, had to work both days, but they all had a great time spending time outside.
She left this morning to visit Idaho and then Vegas. She is quite the traveler. Emma misses her already.
Speaking of Emma, she went to the doctor's today because she woke up with a fever yesterday morning and again this morning. She got up three times last night. The doctor said she had a mild ear infection in both ears, and an infected throat and nose. It breaks my heart knowing she is so sick. She's a trooper though. Tonight was rough though. She was just hot and cranky and too tired for her own good. Luckily, she finally fell asleep so I could finish a quiz that was due tonight.
Finals are coming up for me very quickly. Only a few more weeks and I'll be done for this semester.
I got a promotion at work. I am now a Conference Lodging Coordinator. I deal mostly with groups, although I still make quite a few reservations also. There is a lot more responsibility now but it's challenging and rewarding and it comes with a raise ( which is always a plus)!!
Ben got a promotion too. We are hoping now we can get the ball rolling on the purchase of a house. Only time will tell.
Wish us Luck.
Here's to a great, busy, wonderful week!
Cheers!

One Great Weekend

This past weekend was one great weekend. Friday night Ben and I went out to dinner at a place called Johnny Carrino's. We had a coupon so it was even better. I had a test on Saturday afternoon that I got an A. And Sunday I actually had the whole day off. We got up and had biscuits and gravy for breakfast and then hung out until we went to the park in the afternoon. Emma had a great time going down the slide and chasing dogs around. We then went to Ikea for a prospective buy and then off to Golden Corral for David's 30th birthday dinner. It was a GREAT day. I only have two more days of work until I get 4 whole days off. Boy do I love spring break.

Presidents Day

I woke up at 5:30 am to go to work at 7:00. I also ate way too much chocolate today. Does not constitute a great day. Luckily, I was able to spend quite a bit of time with Emma thanks to her daycare being closed today. We took some cute pictures, so here you go...

Fun with Mom

Emma and I got to spend the whole afternoon together when I got home from school. She took a nap and then woke up and played until we went to the store to buy food. She did really well there too. After all the groceries were put away and we both had snacks we played with the magnets on the refrigerator. She loved this. Love this little girl.

A Thursday Adventure

Today I was able to pick Emma up from daycare a little earlier than
usual and trek down to P-Town, aka Provo. We met David and Brian for a quick bite at In and Out. Emma did really well at the restaurant...good thing mom brought animal crackers for Roo to snack on while I devoured my cheeseburger and fries. We then came home and played because at this point, Emma had a nap longer than she normally has ever slept during the day. She played with a new toy she received from Sean and Mallory. These are Elise's brother and sister-in-law who are very thoughtful and generous. Good thing Emma and I played long enough to tucker her out again so she could go to sleep. Here's a side note, how do you get a 13 month baby girl to sleep through the night. We have had some difficulty in that arena lately and I am wondering if anyone has any sound advice for me.
Anything would be helpful at this point. I think all three of us are ready for a good night sleep nightly. Meanwhile, I am in the process of rearranging our pictures above our couch. I feel like I'm ready for a little makeover for our nest. Truthfully, I am ready to be in a house. We shall see...

Here is a picture for your viewing pleasure of Miss Roo on Christmas Eve. Love her.
